DSA cracks down on illegal driving schools

Further to the BBC One show programme on illegal driving schools, the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) has continued its initiative to deal with the rising number of illegal driving instructors by sucessfully prosecuting a man in Derbyshire for faslely taking money from learner drivers while not qualified or having his name on the DSA register of approved driving instructors.

The DSA has said that it is taking the issue of illegal driving instruction very serious, and with over 400 cases currently being investigated, it is hoping for more convictions in the future.

Anyone thinking about becoming a driving instructor should do the proper research before spending money and time, as a few of these illegal ADIs are people who have failed the qualifying process, and have continued to teach and charge learner drivers!

If you suspect any driving school is operating illegally, you should contact the DSA on 02920 581155 or email integrity.team@dsa.gsi.gov.uk
